Welcome to The Palms Pet Resort & Spa, "The New Standard in Pet Care"  - providing a safe and healthy environment in a state-of-the-art facility for San Antonio and surrounding areas.

Our goal at The Palms is to provide a environment that nurtures both the emotional and physical needs of our guests.  Our facility was specifically designed with this goal in mind; from the 8 separate air conditioning systems with 100% fresh air returns, to the double fenced yards with 8 ft. perimeter fencing, from individual TV’s and webcams, to an in ground pool.  Cats have a 240 gallon fresh water aquarium for interest and calming effect. Each suite area has separate outdoor play yards.  All staff are PCSA certified pet care technicians to provide optimum safety and care.  We strive to be the stress-free option for times when you have to be separated from your four-legged family member

Owners & Management Team - Our Story

James R. Peterson, D.V.M., owner of The Palms Pet Resort & Spa, oversees the quality care provided to all guests of The Palms.   Dr. Peterson  owns two veterinary hospitals in the San Antonio Area and is excited to offer The Palms; a complete pet boarding, grooming, training, and PlayCare facility with 24 hour care, dedicated to the health and safety of the pets of our community.  Dr. Peterson graduated from Texas A&M.

He practiced in both emergency and general veterinary medicine for eight years before establishing Hill Country Animal Hospital. The Peterson family have four dogs, three cats, and even Nigerian Dwarf goats! Dr. Peterson is actively involved in the Bexar County Veterinarian Medical Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, Texas Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Animal Hospital Association.

John McGhee, Is the General Manager of The Palms Pet Resort & Spa. "Dr. James Peterson and I have been talking about this project since 1997. The design process began in 2003, with a goal of providing the very best care and services for your pets. Many miles of travel were involved, as we attended seminars, trade shows, and visited facilities across the United States.

John's 35 plus years in management, sales, and business development are great assets as he trains and leads a team of dedicated personnel. His focus is providing a great experience for your pets, and ease of mind for you.
